The Serve Pickleball + Kitchen FAQs

Whether you’re new to The Serve or a regular customer, we’re here for you! To help you get answers quickly, we’ve put together common questions for our amenities and services.

Pickleball FAQS

  • How do I reserve a pickleball court?

You can easily book from our app (available in the App Store and Google Play Store) or online via our booking page or calendar. Payment will be due at the time of booking. We offer flexible rescheduling or cancellation options, which will be provided in your booking confirmation email.

  • How do I book open play time?

You can easily book open play sessions on our app (available in the App Store and Google Play Store) or online via our booking page or calendar. Payment will be due at the time of booking. We offer flexible rescheduling or cancellation options, which will be provided in your booking confirmation email. When you book an open play session, you’ll be matched with other players who have signed up for open play during the same time. Whenever possible, you will be matched with another player in a same or similar skill set. Payment is required at the time of booking.

  • Can anyone make a reservation?

Anyone 18 years or older may reserve a court or open play time. The person booking will be required to sign the waiver for the booking as well as place a credit card on file to bill for the booking. Whomever places the booking will be responsible for the entire cost of the booking, unless additional payment methods have been applied.

  • Can I split payments for a court or event?

Yes, our booking system allows for more than one payment method for courts and certain event types. The option to use split payments for up to 6 people will be provided while booking.

  • Is there a dress code for the courts?

We ask that players wear all-ages-appropriate athleticwear on the courts, including suitable athletic shoes (non-marking soles) and request no open-toed shoes or sandals be worn on the courts.

  • Can bookings be resold by an individual or group to another individual?

No, The Serve Pickleball + Kitchen does not allow bookings to be resold. If you cannot use your booking for any reason, please cancel it and rebook for another time. We reserve the right to refuse access to anyone reselling a booking.

  • Do you sell pickleball gear?

Yes! Check out our available merchandise in The Shop at our facility. You’ll find pickleball equipment, clothing, and gift items.

  • How much does it cost to play?

For open play and general court reservations, check out our pricing information. League pricing will vary.

  • Do you allow walk-ins?

Walk-ins are welcome, but there’s no guarantee that a court will be available. To ensure you get a court at your desired time, please reserve your court in advance.

  • How many people can I book on my court reservation?

Bookings for a single court may be made for up to 6 guests. Multiple courts are available. Larger parties may be considered an event and be booked through our Events team. If you have any questions regarding your group’s size or needs, give us a call at (704) 851-1800.

  • Do I have to play to come to The Serve Pickleball + Kitchen?

Not at all! The Serve is as much a social hub for the community as it is a sports-lovers paradise, with exceptional food and beverages, relaxing lounge and cooly casual bar area for spending time with existing friends and making new ones! The Serve Pickleball + Kitchen was designed with socializing in mind. With over a mile of soundproofing on the ceilings and sound-dampening glass throughout, you won’t find an echo filled warehouse where you can’t hold a conversation. So, stop in, hang out, and have fun!

  • Are there any age restrictions for the pickleball courts?

Yes, we ask that all pickleball players be a minimum of 12 years of age, excluding specialized youth programming. Anyone under the age of 16 must always be accompanied by a responsible adult when participating in pickleball activities. The supervising adult is not required to play but must remain present and available to the child throughout their visit. For anyone 16-18 years of age, a responsible adult must complete their waiver prior to participating.

  • Do you offer clinics?

Yes! The Serve offers private pickleball clinics with a pickleball instructor, as well as events and programming specific to player skill level. Have a group new to pickleball? Consider setting up a private group clinic!

  • Do I need to sign a waiver to play?

Yes, all guests must complete a liability waiver form prior to participating, if they have not previously done so. This is required to be completed once in every calendar year and may be completed in our app.

  • What if I book an outdoor court and it rains?

If you have an outdoor court reservation, clinic, or lesson booked and it rains, we will do our best to relocate your booking/activity to an indoor court. If none are available, we will issue a credit that may be used to book a reservation for another day. If you have any questions regarding the weather for your booked activities, please give us a call at (704) 851-1800.

  • Can I order food and drinks while I am playing?

It’s important that each guest’s time is respected. We ask that you arrive on time for your booking. Your group is welcome to spend time relaxing in our lounge, café, bar, or restaurant, but will need to be off the court at your designated end time.

A service animal must be housebroken, remain under the control of its handler and be either harnessed, leashed, or tethered, unless the individual’s disability prevents using these devices, or these devices interfere with the service animal’s safe, effective performance of tasks. In such a case, the handler must maintain control of the animal through voice, signal, or other effective controls. Service animals should wear identifying harnesses or collars. Staff may inquire to verify that the animal in question is a service animal needed to aid a person with a disability. The care or supervision of a service animal is solely the responsibility of his or her owner and the owner shall be responsible for any damage caused by the service animal to persons or property.
